The other facility we provide to you is the ability to hold a security deposit against a guest’s credit card without actually having the physical funds in your possession or the aggravation of having to return it, this will also enable you to take a higher security deposit than you have in the past, we know how difficult this is when you are trying to secure a booking, a small/large security deposit can either make or break a confirmed booking. If a guest has for example a $3,000 limit on their card, the day before their arrival you can authorise a security deposit against their card, this simply informs their credit card company to reduce their limit by this amount so that should you have the need to charge this for whatever reason the funds are there. This authorisation only stays on their card for 30 days and then automatically drops off, you have no need to do anything further than the original authorisation, you still get sent a receipt from our processing company confirming that these funds are available should you need to take them.
